The Long Island Museum Presents
COLORS OF LONG ISLAND:
STUDENT EXPRESSIONS
Student Art Show Turns 10! |
| This month, The Long Island Museum celebrates a 10-year tradition. More than 300 students from across Long Island will participate in the 10th annual Colors of Long Island: Student Expressions, exhibition from December 9, 2006 through January 28, 2007.
Art teachers from public and private schools across Long Island were invited to submit up to three pieces of student artwork for this exhibition. The theme, “The Colors of Long Island,” allows for many creative interpretations. While some schools refer to Long Island’s landscapes, others interpret the theme differently by focusing on the cultural diversity that makes Long Island so colorful. The varying interpretations of this theme will be portrayed through many different media, including watercolor, clay sculptures, quilts, drawings, oil pastels, photographs and computer graphics.
