Map & Directions to the Museum
 

By Car: Take the Long Island Expressway (Route 495) to Exit 62. Proceed north on County Road 97 (Nicolls Road) to its end. Turn left onto Route 25A for 1-1 1/2 miles, to the intersection of 25A and Main Street in Stony Brook. Turn Left.

The Museums main entrance is on the right. Driving time from New York City approximately
one to one and one half hours.
 

Ferry Services: From New England between Bridgeport, CT, Port Jefferson, LI, four miles east of The Museums, and between New London, CT, and Orient Point on the east end of Long Island. Both ferries operate year round.

Car and walk-on reservations are suggested for summer and holiday travel.
By Train:
Stony Brook Station is located along the Long Island Rail Road, Port Jefferson line. From Pennsylvania Station in Manhattan, travel time is approximately one and one half hours.

Taxi service is available at Stony Brook Station, located on Route 25A one mile east of The Museums.

 

The Long Island Museum is located at 1200 Route 25A in Stony Brook. Beginning July 6, 2009 hours are Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. The Museum will be closed to the public Monday through Thursday. Admission is $9 for adults, $7 for seniors 62 and older, $4 for students six through 17. Museum members and children under six are admitted for free.
